Wastewater Treatment and Meal Production
The shrimp producers are the best example of companies Dysta can offer the waste to value solutions since shell waste, which is big part of the shrimp, is ideal raw material for meal production with the sludge removed from the wastewater stream. For most shrimp producers, shell waste is a problem as it can be costly to get rid of it. However, these shells are, for example, rich in proteins, calcium carbonate, chitin, and chitosan, and are ideal raw material for shrimp meal production. As well the shrimp industry waste streams have enormous potential as a source of value-added products, such as proteins, which can be used with the shell as a raw material for shrimp meal production.

Value out of close to 100% of the incoming raw material
With Dystia Waste to Value System, including wastewater treatment system and shrimp meal plant, the shrimp processors will be able to get value out of close to 100 % of the raw material, instead of only 30 to 40 % by using only the shrimp meat, by turning the shell and sludge from costly waste to valuable product.
The Dystia Shrimp Meal Plant is designed to handle both the shell from the processing area and the particles from the wastewater. The larger particles will be grabbed by screening prior to the DAF tank and all the smaller particles removed in the DAF tank.
